Ultrasound Division

The first year resident ultrasound elective is a two week course which is broken into 6 units.

     Unit 1 - Physics
     Unit 2 - FAST
     Unit 3 - Cardiac and Lung
     Unit 4 - Vascular
     Unit 5 - Gallbladder and Renal
     Unit 6 - 1st Trimester OB and Ocular

Topics, objectives and links to videos, readings and quizes for each unit are found on each units page. The student will meet with the instructor once for each unit and will also supplement their learning by independant scanning in the department.

Prior to each meeting the student will complete the selected readings, watch the assigned prerecorded videos and complete a written exam for that unit. At the unit meeting the instructor will review any questions on the didactic material, review any independant scans the student has done prior to the meeting and then spend time scanning in the department to teach hands on skills.

At the end of the course the student will take a final written exam.
